I am thrilled about the innovative changes in the delivery of the SSP that will be available with the release of the new SSP app.
The new app will change how SSP is delivered and updated. As the app evolves it will also provide a platform for the SSP community of providers to learn more about the features of those who will benefit from SSP.
Shortly SSP providers will be introduced to a new digital delivery system that will work on several platforms. This new model of delivery is coming at an opportune time as traditional modes of provider-client interactions are being challenged by mandated restrictions limiting interactions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the past, clinic-based delivery of SSP has been the gold standard of delivery. With the SSP app, remote delivery could approximate many of the positive features of a clinic experience. For example, the provider can use video conferencing platforms to both instruct the client to use the app and to monitor the client reactions while accessing SSP. Using these technologies, an astute therapist can monitor and discuss the client’s reactions to the SSP.
With the app SSP providers will be able to seamlessly reach out to those who have been destabilized by the pandemic, enabling them to access the SSP in the safety of their home without challenging them to navigate outside their home and risk illness.
